College of Zeal

While they believe in some deity with deep faith, these bards prefer to inspire rather than preach, and to persuade rather than lecture. These are no Clerics; they celebrate their cause with laughter and song.

Bonus Proficiencies

When you join the College of Zeal at 3rd level, you gain proficiency in the Religion skill if you do not yet have it, and you become proficient with Medium Armor and Shields.

Turn Undead

You may also spend one Inspiration Die as a bonus action to attempt to turn a single undead creature within 30 feet that can hear you. They immediately attempt a Charisma save against your spell DC - if they fail, they become frightened of you for three rounds, and must spend their action each turn moving as far from you as they are able.

Shield of Zeal

At 6th level, your Inspiration becomes protective - when you give an Inspiration die to an ally, roll it twice - they immediately gain that many temporary hit points as well.

Songs of the Faith

At 14th level, you become able to prepare spells like a Cleric. After each long rest, you may choose a number of spells from the Cleric spell list equal to your Charisma modifier - until your next such preparation, treat those spells as Bard spells that you know.
